I studied political science and history at Bilkent University and obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, where I specialized in the history of U.S. foreign relations and the modern Middle East. I am in the process of revising the manuscript for my first book, based on my doctoral dissertation, which is a study of U.S. relations with Turkey and Iran and anti- Americanism in the two countries from 1945 to the present.
